12th Cambridge International Conference on Open and Distance Learning - 25 to 28 September 2007

What do we know about using new technologies for learning and teaching? A ten year perspective

The 12th Cambridge International Conference was held in New Hall. New Hall is a Cambridge College situated near to the historic centre of Cambridge.

The conference engaged with such themes as:

  • What have we learned about using new technologies over the last 10 years?
  • How can new technologies best be used to enhance learning and teaching?
  • Is learning and teaching with new technologies underpinned by new pedagogies?
  • What do "digital natives" expect from distance education?
  • How far can mobile learning bridge the "digital divide"?
  • How do the new technologies change the economics of distance learning?
  • What professional development is needed for those using the new technologies?
  • How should management of ODL institutions change in order to integrate new technologies?
