WORKSHOPS TO TRAIN PRACTITIONERS

Early in 2005, IRFOL and COL were approached by the Distance and flexible Learning Unit at the University of the South Pacific (USP) asking for help with the following problem: 'Most research activities go on in the academic schools, even though distance learners make up about 60% of the university's total enrolments, only a handful of people can do research and have research experience, most have limited research knowledge and skills. We know there is much to research in ODL here - we just don't know where or how to start.'

This led to a bespoke workshop designed and delivered by IRFOL for the staff at USP.
